Cruel Intentions
Was Cruel Intentions a remake of Valmont? I just saw this movie recently for the first time and the whole storyline was almost identical to Cruel Intentions.
shareI agree with u. Cruel Intentions is very similar to this movie. They even share a few of the same character names: Cecile and Valmont.
shareCruel Intentions, Valmont and another movie, Dangerous Liasons are all based off of the same back, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, a 18th Century French novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.
That probably explains why they are all so similar. ;)
Definately check out Dangerous Liasons if you liked Valmont or Cruel Intentions.
And there's also Dangerous Liaisons : the series.. starring Rupert Everett, Catherine Deneuve and Leelee Sobieski. It's great as well.

But if you speak french, you should watch the original french version of the series.. Cause the dubbed english version has been cut and misses about an hour.

i saw this movie after i saw cruel intentions,and i looked it up and yea it was a sort of remake,i saw an interview with the writer of cruel intentions and he said that he wanted a sexy,younger take on this film.

I love 'Dangerous Liaisons' and thought 'Cruel Intentions' was about as good as a teen movie can get (which frankly isn't that good anyway).
