thoughts? again hollywood doing remakes of 80's films or giving them a TV show, They tried with Beverly Hills Cop but that didn't go further than the pilot. Now I heard they they want to do a Big TV show+Real Genuis- I don't mind if they do it every now and again but seem they do it quite a'lot

I thought if the Uncle Buck TV series had flopped in 1991 they shouldn't bother with it again.

reply

well not as if it had 22 episode order but then they cancelled it after 4th episode as this wasn't a mini series, but I think they should drop it I mean are they running out of ideas? I heard other day we are now going to get a TV show of 80's classics Big + Real Genius , maybe do RG as TV show but do Big as a mini series what you think?

Yep but haven't they already been there done that with an Uncle Buck series? And it was terrible.

John Candy and John Hughes are gone and with them went Uncle Buck. Hopefully people have a bit more about them than to show any support for something that is merely designed to make a quick buck (yes), by ripping off other people's work. People as a whole, really ought to boycott anything that tries to flog us mediocrity, simply by hiding it under an established title. This TV series may have the phrase 'Uncle Buck' in the title, but Uncle Buck it isn't.

yea see what your saying ee-rundle-544-446716 , I mean there has been some good films that have had an alright TV series and vice versa in the past but not for this.

If this was a John Hughes project, then that would be acceptable, because it's his creation. But it isn't, so it simply shouldn't be happening. I'll never accept anyone other than John Candy as Uncle Buck. If they had used a different title with a similar premise, then that would be acceptable too. If it isn't John Hughes and John Candy, it isn't Uncle Buck, so for them to use that title, is an absolute disgrace, particularly as both Hughes' and Candy's family have voiced their disapproval about it.
