The house
Does anyone know where the house in the movie is located? I always assumed in Winnetka, near the Home Alone house since Tia walks by a Winnetka bank in one of the scenes.
shareI love it that in these movies they always have a family in a house like this. as if. typical midwestern family lives in a friggin million dollar mansion with 8 bedrooms 5 bathrooms etc. why not make it more realistic?

Being Australian I assumed most families in the US lived in these double story homes, because that is the type of home is a lot of films.
just looked it up on zillow.com this actual house estimated sales price would be:
$1.4 million, estimated $5,500 a month mortgage payment. probably something like $5,000 a month rent. plus $15,000 a year property taxes. and it's only 4.5 bedrooms, not 8 like I joked about.
yes just your typical 2 story american house that the average american family would live in.
yet they commonly use houses like this showing a family living in.
also, this is in the midwest, which actually has some of the lowest house values if compared to say california, new york, etc.
