I'm not knowledgeable about the Markka as compared to the Euro. It certainly didn't look like she made much, as it consisted of three bills, and she used one for the dress (is the shop unionised?). She later gave her parents a 500 note (€84.09 equiv) she got from her brother, making them think she'd returned it. I know that kind of manual labour doesn't pay handsomely, but you'd think if it was a union shop, she'd make enough to live better.
