Ms. 45 & Repulsion

While I realize the circumstances were different, I kept thinking of these two movies while watching. The lack of emotion is so effective, but the film works, because of it's run time. Had this film been longer, even 15-20 minutes, it would have run out of gas. The scene in the drug store, where she buys the rat poison is brilliant, because it's clear she's not using it for rats, yet the cashier tells her exactly what it is good for. Unlike the two movies I mentioned in the subject line, her breakdown is so controlled, that in the end, you find yourself completely at peace with her decisions.

Really reminded me of 71 Fragments of a Chronology of Chance.

I don't know it, but saw it's a Haneke film. Will definitely take a look.
