1989 in movies

It's odd how many really good movies came out in 1989. I'm watching this on Antenna TV. (You know you're old when you remember paying to see the movies shown in the late late show!)

It's funny watching True Believer now because everyone's speaking in a higher register. Kurtwood Smith sound like he's on helium.

I watched it on Antenna.

Did you notice that the entire film was slightly sped up? I first noticed it with Woods' voice, then with Kurtwood Smith. They were almost sounding like chipmunks. And the exchanged seemed very quick.

Then I started watching closer, and noticed their facial expressions, and the changes, made them look like they were on speed, tweeking for another hit.

The final proof came when I heard Freedom Rider by Traffic, and Crystal Ship by the Doors. Sped up

I guess they had to make it fit the time slot and couldnt cut any scenes.

That makes sense. Still, the movies on Antenna TV are usually pretty good. I was even enjoying the ancient Boston Blackie movies.

Why are good movies always on overnight? They must be cheaper to air then.

Saw this in the theaters, too
