Remastered 4-disc collection - where can we buy it?

Apparently Emotion/Bandai recently issued a four disc remastered version of Gunbuster, but the distribution has been crazy bad. There are a few Japanese sites where you can buy it for something like $120, but there's no guarantee that it has English subtitling.

Are there any English-language sites where this collection is available? (And at a reasonable price?) I can't find any...

Also, I just read on this forum that a new US distributer has picked up the rights, hopefully a reliable mainstream player like TokyoPop. It's amazing that such a highly-praised anime is almost unavailable! I just hope they don't censor out that random fanservice in episode 2.

This may or may not be exactly what you want, since I think it is just one disc, but check out www.animenation.com.

Original price $64.99. It can be pre-ordered for $48.74, and runs 180 minutes, so should be all 6 eps. English subtitles, "Publisher: Honneamise".
Pre-order now for Feb. 20, 2007 release.

Also, Amazon shows a "Gunbuster/3 pc./full sub" DVD from Image Entertainment studio. Originally $64.99, available for pre-order at $58.49, same 2-20-07 release. Short on details, and actually refered me to the IMDB for more info!

Hope this helps--good luck!

Bandai Visual has released Gunbuster in one set, it retails from around $50-$70. I know when it first came out, I was able to find it on shelves inside of Best Buy, and even FYE. I haven't seen them since, but I know a trusted website that sells it just short for around $50.

Their shipping is fast and their prices are pretty good, I hope you enjoy it!

That's the three disc set. The sound in episode one was messed with, and it' missing the final extra disc. That disc contains the two most awesome supplements, being the rough cut of episode 5, and the unmatted version of episode 6.

It can still be found at Kinokuniya bookstores, at a little over 100 bucks. Pricey, subless, but oh so worth it.
