Most people who have seen this movie comment on the nudity of Tom and Lola. Yes, they are nude through the first half of the film, but they are in a hospital being treated by doctors and nurses. What I found gratuitous is when Tom and Lola, who at this point in the movie are fully clothed, end up at one of the attending nurse's house while she is away. Her three children, ages ranging from 11, 8 and 4 (I am guessing) come down stairs to discover Tom and Lola, but it is the nurse's three kids who are nude because it is the middle of the night and they have been asleep. Is this a French cultural idiosyncrasy in which many family members, including the kids, sleep nude?

You would be surprised how many families, including American, sleep naked. My question was where their parents were. How many parents would just let their children, all under 12, to sleep alone all night.

Well, like others have said, the nurse
s three children could be at-home nudists. But my question is are they her own children or are they other bubble children like Tom and Lola that she has taken in or rescued?

You can tell this movie was made "across the pond" because they don't have the hangups about nudity that we seem to have here in North America. OMG nude children! So what. It baffles me that people find movies like this "controversial" but all of those extremely violent movies barely gets a mention.

I thought this was a well done movie. It wasn't exploitation but child innocence that was depicted.

You guys DO realize that the movie is, well, a bit "off", right ? The bubbles thing to begin with, two kids with shaved heads living butt naked in a bare bubble in a bare room. A bubble that is supposed to be protecting a child but can be popped with said child's finger...A children's hospital which seems to have no nurses doing rounds, or lights, for that matter, since the place is dark all the time.
It.Is.Not.Reality.
So in that "reality" it's not suprising that these 3 kids would be alone in the house.
