Tom's girlfriend

I don't know if Tom and the woman were an item, but Tom was definitely in love with her. I don't think Vlad killed her out of spite, seeing as he didn't know Tom was in love with her. That leads me to believe that he didn't even realize that Tom cared about her, at all. I'd imagine he killed her because he was hungry, or for the thrill of the kill. Or maybe he was a newly-made vampire, and he wasn't able to control himself at the time. Who knows?
