Umm...not to sound all perverted and what not but I will have to agree with the perv (above) I thing that maybe things went a tad bit to far and they "did" have sex...

with what the way the camra fading slowly out of the sene after all that intense kissing in the old house and not to mention him taking her there in the frist place just to kiss her and also let's not forget the little loose-your-clothes-game they enjoyed on thier way up the stairs...

Well,I don't know about u but that seems pretty fishy to me...(lol)

reply

I agree with pixie and perv.

I watched this the other day with my mom just for old time's sake, and since it was supposed to be a PG movie, they couldn't show anything but kissing. But the lying down in a secluded place and making out with hand motions kind of gave you the impression........that a kid wouldn't get but an adult would.

I think it was one of those things where they decided to leave it open for interpretation. The movie is cheesy enough where they didn't want to alienate their younger audience by doing anything too explicit, but it was still meant to be a "teen" movie, so they had to throw some juicy stuff out there. I agree with sweetjaneb that they left it vague enough that it would go over a kid's head, but they implied enough so teens/adults would get the gist.

I thought it was a bit odd in that scene where the teacher comments on stuff that fell out of her bag and she had contraceptive pills in there. I didn't expect that.

Let me end this debate. They had sex. Robyn Lively said it was a sex scene in a 2014 interview.

I voted for Frenchie and Dia like a sex donkey on Xanax.

It's not a disney movie, disney just used to show it on their channel.
Sort of like the Notebook isn't an ABC Family movie yet they show it until you gouge your eyes out.

I don't know if they had sex or not but I will say they were passionately kissing and they laid down and the whole take some clothes off. I mean it may be implied but I don't know.

Right now three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I remember watching this movie as a kid and I know even then I thought they were "doing it" as I would've said. Either way it doesn't matter because they don't show it.

Wow CTR, that was kinda hott. ::quivers in seat::

But yeah, I do think they had sex. As a kid I just thought they were making out but seeing it at 26 years old lets me know...

Also! I figured it was obvious the way she was caressing him under his shirt. I was waiting for the whole nails scratching down back thing and never happens...

reply

I thought that too after watching it the other day. I'm 26.

But then I thought maybe they just kissed a lot. After all, she said to Serena 'When he kissed me, I wanted to believe he was really kissing me.' or something like that.

Surely she'd have told Serena if they had sex, even if she wouldn't have gone into detail.

Funny, my girlfriend also laughed at me when I proposed to do some ass to mouth with her.

They didn't lie down just to kiss. That's why the film has the message of safe sex in the sex education scene and when contraceptive pills tumble from Louise's purse during class.

reply

Even if they didn't go all the way, I imagine they certainly didn't just kiss. The whole setup was not just romantic, but sensual/sexy.

reply

I sure hope so. Michael J. Fox got laid in "Teen Wolf" (which "Teen Witch" was pitched as being the female version of), Ronald got some in "Can't Buy Me Love", and heck, Tom Cruise hired a hooker to take his (and his friends') precious v-card in "Risky Business"... what's wrong with Louise getting hers? It's sort of a double standard when teen comedies with male leads treat teenage boys having sex as casual, funny, high-five moments but teenage girls having sex is dirty and produced by "pedo pervs". Where's their 'congratulations'?

It's a wall that's breaking down these days. But to note, I still think there's a balance. It's fine to acknowledge that teens - boys and girls - do have sex. But in these 80s movies, for the most part, it was just a side note that it's something sometimes incorporated with high school antics. Ok, fine. However, now the general preoccupation of teens' sex lives - complete with steamy sex scenes - as the focal point of teen-based dramas/comedies is a little odd. To quote Roger Ebert, "Teenagers once went to the movies to see adults making love. Now adults go to the movies to see teenagers making love." Sorry for the tangent. Back to Louise. The lascivious activity in question wasn't the focal point and wasn't graphic. So in the vain that movies treat boys doing the same: high-five, Louise.
