question about songs

In the scene where Max is auditioning for the solo piece, whats the piano music that the piano player is playing?

Also when Amy and Max are dancing on the roof of the studio, I can make out UA (which i assume stands for United Artists) on the record that Max puts on but I don't know what the music is from, can anybody help? Greatly appreciated.

The Roof Song is I'm In heaven. I forget the other because is been so long since I saw this film. On the Footloos board, they were discussion their favorite dance films, and this one popped up in my mind immediately because the talent in it is [not was] phenomenal. Anyway, I know the Song's name is I'm In Heaven because I sing classic Jazz and there is a version I mimic sometimes song by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. IF you can't get the big band original, the EF/LA version is the just as good.

Hate to correct. But it's actually called Cheek to Cheek. I'm in Heaven are the opening words to the song. But you are right the Ella & Louis version is great. Frank Senatra also does a decent version.

The version used in the movie is a Big band version that spands a couple of different stylings, and might be hard to find because it's not on the sountrack listings.

As for the music used in his audition. I'll have to watch again and let you know. The originial song is a pretty popular musical song. For some reason "A Choursline" pops into my mind, but I may be wrong.
