More info:

"The movie uses a wide array of genuine wartime vehicles, and when not possible, replicas are used. One interesting feature is the use of a Focke-Wulf Fw 190 replica, made by the German company Flug Werk.[1] During the shooting of the movie, the aircraft was marked similarly as Oberst Erich Rudorffer's aircraft in 1944."

AWESOME, sounds like another great film which will never be released properly in the USA. If it's anything like Talvisota, it'll rock. I just hope the Finns haven't succumbed to this new post-SAVING PRIVATE RYAN mentality where everything has to be shot high shutter speed and with the camera shaking. That sort of thing killed the remake of TUNTEMATON SOTILAS.

incidentally, what does Blair and Bush gay bar music have anything to do with this?

reply

Tali-ihantala is more like a documentary and nothing like Talvisota.

el Ucca:

So would you say it's like 'The Longest Day' or 'A Bridge Too Far'--somewhat dry, clinical & historical but entertaining?

It's only slightly better than Beyond the Front Lines, and that's not much.

I hate to say this now because the director died, but Tali-Ihantala sucked ass. You find more fun by watching your home aquarium for 1.5 hours.
