What the heck... what is this X edition?
Is this 89 minute version featured on the Synapse DVD in any form?

You see us as a brain, an athelete, a basket case, a princess, and a criminal.

reply

Watched the 'X' rated Version... nothing really that special or 'X rated' about it, really.

reply

The person who said it was an X-rated version may have been from another country. Maybe X in that country isn't the same as X in the United States. I know at one time, X in the United States was the same as R-rated in the U.S. today.

reply

Not sure what the difference is but I'm about to find out as apparently that is the version I purchased over the net... I was actually coming by this forum to ask the very same question... Presing play now..

Cool.
Did you watch the X-rated edition or the Synapse edition?

'n was it any good??

Does anyone know what was X-rated about it? A longer sex scene? Or a violent part?

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

reply

I've seen a different version of the film (I think), which MAY be this X-rated version. What I can remember is different includes:

1. A second part to the sex scene
2. A longer / slightly more upsetting death scene for Maddie

reply

yes you are correct
the maddy death scene is extended and also there are extended parts with the killing of the psychiatrist and escaping, several other bits are extended too including parts of the film with different camera angles and so on.
The disc also includes bits of the films that were taken out of the final take of the film along with the beginning music score.with the stepfather talking in the background to his wife and family.
It is worth a look for a real fan. I got mine from Amazon or ebay I think _the title menu is in German but you can change the language to English, obviously.

Thanx for the info...

Does anyone know what's up with the 93 minutes that IMDB is referring to? Is that actually sum kind of "complete" version of the film, or is it just the main film with all the deleted scenes put in "randomly"?

reply

Does anyone know where I can get this version? thanks!

reply

It's not really an 'X-Rated' version. My guess is it's being sold that way to increase interest in it.

Director Jeff Burr was actually forced by the studio to make changes to the film that he did not want to make - changes that actually made the film more violent, ironically.

These scenes can be found in the extras on the officially released DVD.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

Yeah.
