Lets go visit God, but first, a haircut....

Watching this on showtime and this is the first time I noticed that just before Sybok leaves with Kirk and Co. for the planet he no longer had longer hair he also appeared much thinner after landing on the planet. even on the shuttle his hair was long/stringy in the back and he seemed about 10-15 pounds heavier & was wearing a totally different tunic compared to the one he had on the bridge moments ago .

Wonder what the story behind it was, bad for the director not to notice. Bad Shat.
