Hooper does it again! A lot of you are familiar with the name ''Tobe Hooper''. He's commonly known for his two biggest movies. The legendary ''The Texas Chain Saw Massacre'' (1974) and Poltergeist (1982). The rest of his movies are incredibly underrated. Spontaneous Combustion is one of 'em having an 4,1 rating on IMDB.

A young man finds out that his parents had been used in an atomic-weapons experiment shortly before he was born, and that the results have had some unexpected effects on him.

Spontaneous Combustion is one of the many underrated Hooper movies. Others are: Eaten Alive, The Funhouse, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The Toolbox Murders and Mortuary. The storyline is a bit confusing at times but because of the interesting subject, spontaneous combustion, it kept me focused throughout the movie.

The effects look really cool and the spontaneous combustions are nice and realistic looking (no fake looking flames). The acting from Brad Dourif (Zombie's Halloween) is very good and even gets better throughout the movie. The rest of the characters are a bit boring but the actors and actresses still do a decent job.

Another great thing is the amazing soundtrack. It sounds realy good. Especially when it's played during the great ending.

Hooper again proves that he's a great director but once again the audience doesn't notice it and that's a shame.

7,0 Stars out of 10 :)
