The rigid snare-backed piece is a reworking of Erik Satie's Gnossienne No. 1, which I used to be able to play for piano.

You can hear the the first three Gnossiennes here on the first link, including the piano original of this film's theme, and the fourth, fifth, sixth and a hidden seventh on the next:

I found it very strange that such a sultry, slow piece should be treated in this way, with a corny keyboard bassline and everything, and I'm even more surprised that the result should impress people other than myself without a fondness for the original :- ). It's quirky yet very memorable.

The second theme I don't recognize - it begins in similar style to the Gnossienes, and may be based on another Satie work or just a Hisashi original. Since revisiting this music has updated my curiosity, I'll be back to let you know if I find anything.

Sorry I'm so new but it is Daisaku Kumes' reworkings of Eric Saties' Gnossiennes as far as the opening title goes. Very good it is too.
