But is out of print - I found one on ebay some time ago. Keep watching for one.

I found the soundtrack on vinyl. Paid 20 cents for it! I also found the VHS for sale at the movie rental store here. it was just sitting there, getting dusty! if you REEEALLY want this movie, you could probably find it on ebay, but if not, you could also go to like a blockbuster or any kind of video store and ask about it. most of the time they have a basement or back room where they keep a lot of older movies that no one rents anymore. Thats my solution for everything: Ask the movie store guy. lol.

i'd like to add that there are two copies of the VHS on ebay right now, but they both end in three days, and this board looks a bit dead, so i dont think that helps much.

what is vinyl??? i want the soundtrack so badly, i have been trying to download it but i cant find any of the songs.

reply

Vinyl is what the old type of records were made of, before the CD's came along... another name for that type of records is LP... you know, the big black round plastic types of discs...

I was actually in the same trouble as the thread-starter a few months ago, my old recorded-from-tv-cassette was getting worse, so I actually bought an old rental-movie from eBay... I was just looking for the OST there now, but couldn't find... I really want it so bad!!! I just LOVE the songs... I actually managed to download "One more time" once, but it was the official song with Michael Bolton... I want the version with the original cast, 'cause that vocalist guy, I think his name is Gene Miller, makes me shiver when he sings!

So... if anyone of you ever finds the soundtrack on eBay or wherever, please let me know! :)

I agree about Gene Miller. My sister used to make fun of me because I would get goosebumps and my eyes would tear up. She would even play that part of the movie when her freinds were over and say, "Watch my sister". And of course, it gave them a good laugh. She and I wore out the VHS tape from replaying that part. I replayed it because the soundtrack had the Michael Bolton verson and I hated it.

P.S. The OST only has the Michael Bolton version as well.

This movie really needs to be released on DVD.

i would buy the movie. one of the great ones that never got proper credit. loved this movie and so did my girls. want the cd with the movie cast as well

reply

Unfortunately you may never see the movie on DVD as it was a total flop at the box office. According to IMDB the movie only brought in 2 million dollars when it was released. Its easy for film studios to completely forget movies like this especially a big studio like Sony Pictures which has an enormous film catalog of movies they could release. You also have to consider before Sony/TriStar will put out any DVD they would first weigh the cost of what it would take to produce the DVD verses how much money they are likely to make, for however many copies they think they could sell. But you never know anything could happen.

reply

Good point, HOWEVER, this movies "Dolls" just came out on DVD and although I LOVE the movie, I'm sure it was a total flop at the box office as well. It was another one of my fave movies that I'd tell people and they'd have NO IDEA what I was talking about (like Sing). I really want this movie on DVD and after Dolls, Teen Witch and License to Drive (which was no longer being made for a while) coming out on DVD, I have faith that Sing will too!!!!!

I got the soundtrack cd on ebay for too much money and soon as it was bought the seller put another copy up for sale so its out there.Mine was in excellent condition.I'd get somebody to burn a copy for you if you want.

Yeah the poster above is correct. The soundtrack does not have whoever sang "One More Time "( which I also prefer to Bolton's) in the movie, on the soundtrack ,but they did use a couple of the kids versions of other songs on the soundtrack.

I first saw this movie on television here in the UK imagine my dismay when i discovered it wasn't available on VHS or DVD here, and as for gettin my hands on the sountrack, dream a little dream! and so my quest to buy "Sing" began!
I found it on VHS for the bargin price of £3.50 on e-bay and then the same seller listed the CD soundtrack for which i bidded and won! i was thrilled! Ebay thankyou! This movie rocks! THE SOUNDTRACK ROCKS! (with the acception of the micheal bolton cover why oh! why!)
Encourage all to see this movie!!

I know for a fact that there is a VHS rip on the net somewhere, Just look around you might find it.

reply

Yeah, "donotimmar" here. I posted the movie on YouTube and I am absolutely amazed at the positive response! My sister copied her VHS copy to DVD and from that I uploaded it to my computer and onto YouTube so it is kinda fuzzy...but better than nothing! I'm so happy that more people will get to enjoy it.

reply

thank you SO much for posting it! I have the VHS, but no VCR and want to get the movie converted to DVD.

I'll definitely be looking for the CD soundtrack too! this is one of my all-time favorite movies

Hello Everyone,

My little sister was one of the world's most avid fans of this film--We loved it, but she was obsessed! She has looked everywhere for it, and cannot find a copy and so has given up- perfect timing for the older sister to step in:)!

I have found a VHS copy on Amazon, used for $30.00. I am happy to buy it and see if someone can convert it for me, but thought I would see if anyone had a lead on a DVD copy already made I could buy, OR recommend a surefire way to have it converted for me from VHS to DVD.

Thanks so much for your attention-so sweet to know our family was not the only one out there who thought this movie was something special.

BTW-here is a petition to have it put on DVD-check it out and sign!
