Couldn't agree with you more. The first one is the only one. The second one had it's moments espcially "Garbage Day"! but this one is when the sequals really began to suck in this francise. One Ricky was shot in the chest in the end of the last one not in the head so there was no reason for him to have that goofy looking crockpot lid on his head (looked like one lol),you went from a tall muscle bound guy in it like his brother from the first one to an adverage height and build guy which makes no sense, then you got the *beep* where there is no snow in the movie like in the last one quite unlike the first one. Damn. Atleast they could have gone back to the shooting location from the first one in Utah or over to Minnesota, Vermont or even up to Canada where there would be snow for sure so it would feel more like it was around Christmas. I can only hope if they do a reboot like every other horror film that they do it right and have snow in the movie atleast. That is another part of why the sequals sucked in this francise.

1 thing i disagree with is that Ricky was a big, bad, and buff dude in part 2 - yes,
then he's in a coma for God knows how long, so in this part 3... well he would have lost a lot of the muscles off of his ripped hardened body,
makes sense that wirey Bill Moseley could play the new Rickey except for 1 fatal flaw:
their faces don't match

Clearly, he and Mason Storm(from Hard To Kill)were in the same hospital

It really seems as if the makers of this film didn't even watch the second movie...

It was nice to see the always wonderful and gorgeous Laura Harring but I agree it was pretty bad

It would have been a lot better if Ricky had stolen the clothes of that Santa he killed. The fact that this movie doesn't feature Ricky as a killer Santa pretty much ruins it for me. And his brain being exposed the entire time doesn't help, just makes it even more ridiculous.

Agreed. This film is a real clunker.

It couldve been alot better. It just needed some gore, Ricky back in a santa suit, better kills, and then it might have been an okay silly slasher. I rank it a tiny but above 5 though.

I haven't seen this since around the late 90's. I wasn't that crazy about it.

There's a lot of problems with this film. One being that it takes itself waaaay too seriously.

They make it seem like Ricky was the traumatized kid from the first but it was Billy, and there is no mention of Billy except for when he was a kid in the flashback footage yet like I said it makes it seem like it was Ricky. It would have tied things together much better if it showed footage from SNDN 1 and 2. Not at all does it even seem in tune with the first two.

This movie just drags on and on! It's one of the slowest movies I've ever seen. It almost seems as if it's on purpose to extend the time of the movie, which is something film-makers do sometimes.

There were 8 deaths in this movie and all but 2 were off screen.

They continued the plot point of Ricky getting upset from seeing red but in the 2nd one he never really killed people because of it but it merely just upset him. However in this film, I think about 6 out of 8 of the killings are all because someone was wearing red, and one because an old lady handed him a present with red wrapping.

Pretty stupid plot, too. They didn't really explain Ricky's motivation for trying to find Laura, either. He can hear her thoughts which is how he knows where to find her and when he does it didn't look like he wanted to kill her. However he does get angry when she runs away from him, but initially it seems like it's some sort of "love story" but they really didn't go anywhere with it.

Whereas Ricky gets shot and blown away through a glass door in the 2nd, in this one he gets killed by being "tricked" into impaling himself on a broken broom stick.

It implies that he might be alive at the end but you don't know for sure. Apparently Silent Night Deadly Night 4 had a script that continued the Ricky/Billy storyline but Yuzna scrapped it. Later on he said he regrets doing that and would have continued the series. SNDN 4 makes part 3 look like a wonderful movie. It would have been cool if they did continue SNDN 4 with the Ricky storyline.
