I am interested in learning how to Shag and want to buy an instructional video. It seems that there are variations of the Shag, but I want to learn the specific Shag that is danced in the film. I am looking at the page below, can anyone give me suggestions on what to learn, step-wise or variation wise, or which video you think would be best to purchase?

I live in SC and I'm a loyal Carolina Shagger and competitor. Visit www.shagdance.com, the official website for all shaggers. We hold festivals several times a year where thousands of shaggers gather at North Myrtle Beach. There are also several great videos out there. I've seen videos by these instructors: Sam and Lisa West, Ellen Taylor, Charlie Womble & Jackie McGee. You can google any of them to find their websites. Honestly, real shaggers are usually way better then the ones in the movie, but I think the actors did a decent job of learning the dance for the purpose of being authentic.
The Steps you will want to learn are: Basic, Sugerfoot, Pivot, Duckwalk, Belly Roll, Applejack, Male Turn, Female Turn, Together Step, Camel Walk.

Don't want to ask that over in the UK.
There is really like one basic step for the Shag and all that you see beyond it in the movie is just them adding to it. Arthur Murray dance studio is a great place to learn to Shag if you have a dance partner.
