This film doesn't look like it's made in the eighties

I know nothing of the Profumo affair, but the film was great. What surprised me was that the film didn't have the typical "eighties look" I expected to see in a film coming out in 1989. That might be partially due to the fact that the events did not take place in the eighties. But I think the film was somewhat ahead of its time in terms of how it looked. Take for instance the several moving camera shots, that in my opinion became more prevalent later. I actually like the "eighties look", but it's always nice to see something that is ahead of the curve. Michael Caton-Jones did a great job, this is his first film and also the best one, alongside Rob Roy.
