If anyone has a copy of this movie (English version), please email me at [email protected]. I'd be willing to purchase a copied version of it or trade for it. Thanks.share
Ahas anyone ever seen a copy of this movie? I heard once that the English languange rights were not released or something like that.share
I've wanted to see this movie ever since it was
made and am amazed that it's NEVER been released in the cinema shown on tv or released
on video or dvd with an English soundtrack!
After spending lots of money making this movie
you'd think the copyright holders would want to
make as much money as possible from it.
where i can find the music of the show?share
The music was released both on lp and on cd - I have the lp, myself, but if you watch ebay you'll eventually find the cd. It's expensive, though. Unfortunately, the soundtrack DIDN'T include one of the pieces I liked the best - the music for the Festival of the Supreme Being.
I'll have a bourbon and tomato juice.
I did watch it in TV in 1989 with English version, it was divided into three parts in different three days. I wished I had taped it long time ago. It was aired in Canada.share
Yes, it was aired on CBC in Canada over successive nights in the summer of 1989 (to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the start of the French Revolution)...wish I had kept it....spectacular.
I saw this at the Seattle International Film Festival many years ago (2 hours in the morning, 2 hours in the afternoon, and 2 hours in the evening!) and have been looking for a copy ever since. I'd even settle for a French version with English subtitles. What a masterpiece.share
You would even *settle* for French with English subtitles? IMHO, that's the only way to watch it. I don't understand French but movies about the French Revolution must be in French language to get the whole feel.share
The full movie is actually 8 hours. Parts 1 through 4 are two hours long each. I have on DVD in english, it's a brilliant movie of that time era.share
hi , have registered with this site as i am very intersted in the movie 'la revolution francaise' and read your note on availability, can you let me know where you got your copy as i would love to get one for myself, it appears to be quite hard to get! i would be very grateful for any information you have,
regards , david
Can anyone please help me find a copy of this movie or tell me where I can buy one. I have only been able to obtain a cut version which was 4 hours long instead of the full 6 hour version please mail me at [email protected]
I have found a copy and it is for sale. Go to ioffer.com and key in "French Revolution" for a search - seller "vespasian" has it. I bought a DVD copy (in English) - Part 1 (Years of Hope - 2 disks) and Part 2 (Years of Fear/Terror - 2 disks). It cost something like US$25 but was worth it. What an incredible miniseries. The quality is television/VHS (copied from when it was aired on bctv) rather than digitized, bright colours, etc., but it is entirely watchable and enjoyable. It is just heartbreaking to see this gem not officially upgraded to DVD quality and sold publicly - I would buy it again if it were. However, at least the original version can be purchased/seen.share
wait so is this the version that was shot in english ? at this rate i'd be interested since i could only find the first half in french in VHS form.share
