Did it bother anyone else that they didn't find someone more positive for Ryan to play? I know he was thrilled with being in a movie about him but all his character did was whine and complain. If I had been him, I would have demanded that the character change to someone more positive to inspire himself to have courage.

The character whom Ryan was playing in his movie, was based on an actual kid named Chad, whom he knew in the hospital.
I think he wanted to do the role.
