So 80's

Where else than in an 80's movie can you find a bunch of good-looking underdog-types defeating violent criminal villains using snazzy dance-moves? :-D

80's were about trying to relive the peace ~ since most of the 70's divided both music n dance and that of war n fight. Example is John Travolta movie Staying Alive where we get all this dance vibe but then theres also issues with fight. Which were both seperate situations.

While the 80's kids choose to unite both by pushing the envelope that kids don't have to fight w/ knifes/etc but with their wit of dance (i.e. Breakin, Combat, etc). Personally loved how this was one of the few movies to bring out the story behind Capoeira (brazilian fight dance). I don't think I even realized this movie used that dance move till I re-rented it sometime ago. For me there was another movie called 'Only The Strong' which was a 90's version which is when I found out about it.

The 1980s seem to have been a great decade for musicals, especially for those that didn't do too well at the box office. Some examples that come to mind are "Times Square", "The Apple", "Xanadu", "Can't Stop The Music", "Stayin' Alive", "Grease 2", "Howard The Duck", "Cocktail", and this movie.

the '80s sucked at "musicals"/movies.
they try to do what they did in the '70s and further back, but "modernized" it which made it corny.

I came here with my dick in my hand - Mystikal "Shake Ya Ass"

Michael Jackson's video for BEAT IT is a prime example.
