I've been trying to find this on DVD but amazon only has it listed as discontinued. Assuming they aren't lying, does anyone know if there is a planned release of this on DVD in the near future?

Considering the cheapest used one that Amazon.com has is $77, it very might well be discontinued. Not sure.
I bought it on Ebay. It is a Korean release, but it's all-region (or region zero, if you prefer), so it works on any DVD player. Video and audio quality are good, and subtitles are available in Korean, English and Spanish. There is also a short 3-minute featurette. The package incorrectly states that there are subtitles in French and cast & crew interviews.
For what it's worth, the UPC is 8809097750988
I lucked out and found it at my local public library.
