A dark side of the mexican history

I'm Mexican and this movie is an example of the current problems in Mexico. Just 10 days before the Olympic games, just a few miles away from the main stadium where the Olympic torch were taken to final destination, a brutal massacre was conducted by the government against thousand of students and civil population. The president that time (Diaz Ordaz) declared the Olympic Games officially opened after been ordered to kill a lot of people. In fact one of the responsible (Echeverria) to participate and decide the slaughter that day, in recognition was named President after Diaz Ordaz finished his presidential period. Hard to believe? Well, this picture present situations hard to believe as well. Good effort, but in my opinion not enough.

well, The history cannot be changed, but what we can do is NOT to forget what happened that day (October 2, 1968). That's the only way to avoid that woeful things like that might happen again in the future.

"2 de octubre, no se olvida".

Yes and he did a similar act called "The Corpus Christi Massacre" or El Halconazo, the name given gives the events in Mexico City on June 10, 1971; the day of the Corpus Christi festival. It became the colloquial name for the massacre when a student demonstration in support of students of Monterrey was violently suppressed by a paramilitary group for the government called Los Halcones. President Luis Echeverría Álvarez, broke away from the facts, but never clarified the situation was always officially denied. In the bloody events never blamed anyone, let alone been brought to justice.

And now, government wants to made a trial against Echeverria. Pathetic.
