Question from a foregin admirer od American Culture

Im from Argentina and i find it utterly interesting to know and see about modern American history and customs.
What im talking about what really interests me of this type of documentary is the part where you see how American live and what they do (did) in small town USA, like the the parts of this movies that show the parades or the people talking about stuff like when those guys workers with the baseballs caps and the long hair and mustaches and sun glasses are interviewed or the parts showing 50's 60's and 70's American tv shows and advertising.

In few words modern American history told looking at and from the American people, small town people specially.

So the question is simply if anyone could suggest more documentaries like this one talking/showing/teaching about all this.

No matter which political side is taken, not judging here, only like to learn the stuff by hearing real Americans and their behaviors, their products etc.

Can you help? Thanks in advance.

This might have some of the similar elements you're looking for:

I don't watch alot of documentaries though, so that's the best I can do. Just felt like your kind post deserved a response. :)

My favorites are "Wisconsin Death Trip" even though it deals with the 1890s, and "The Town That Was" about the underground mine fire that turned Centralia, PA into a ghost town in the late 20th century. "Johnstown Flood" - the one narrated by Richard Dreyfuss - is also well done but very, very grim and depressing.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. -Edison
