Swayze worked out on machines a lot

I watched this movie the other night for old-times' sake (1, I feel old! 2, it still kicks major backside!) I noticed something about Patrick Swayze's physique:

The way his chest, particularly his upper chest, isn't that full relative to his arms and back, and the way his shoulders roll forward, without much rear deltoid development are indicative of a workout very dependent on machines over free weights.

Compare to Bruce Lee, who (arguably) pioneered weight training for martial artists, and we know favored barbell and dumbbell exercises (with a healthy amount of body weight training)

*This is all in good fun; in a world of sedentary lifestyles and way too many sources of refined sugars, I'm glad for anything that gets people off their bums and regularly exercising.

I find this really interesting. I thought it was just his individual physique, like that maybe each person varies, but the muscle definition on is chest, back, arms, and shoulders did look really different than you usually see on really muscular but lean and slim guys. He just didn't look quite 'right'. This seems like it could be a reason why?

At the same time, it looked like it could have been him climbing that rope, in which case he still had some serious strength and was well able for body weigh exercises even if he did focus on machines.
