Richard Chamberlain's intro for The Four Musketeers

Many years ago, when I saw both movies, back to back, on HBO, the second movie had an intro, a sort of "catch you up in case you missed the first film" voice over by Richard (Aramis) Chamberlain. I enjoyed it very much and I believe that, with all due respect to Frank Finlay, RC's voice over was much more enjoyable and had a more "polished" attitude to it. For whatever reason, whenever The Four Musketeers is played, I keep hoping to hear RC's voice, but I'm always disappointed when it's FF.
I would very much like to know if anyone out there has a copy of the RC voice- over version of the 1974 TFM.

Well, I must say that honestly I do not know the version you are talking about. The only voice I have heard in the movie as a voice-over was Frank Finlay's (Porthos) voice. And I remember it quite clearly being the same version as the one I have heard back in 1980's when I first saw the film...so it is most natural to me to hear his voice. Sorry man.

That version you're referring to was done for the American release of the film, or so I recall. The other voice was considered too European for American audiences, and so Chamberlain was asked to do the opening narrative.

Interestingly, the only voice over I have ever heard, on US television, vhs, or dvd is Frank Finlay's.

Why not ask this question on the board for Four Musketeers instead on this second sequel?

More likely to get an answer since this film is much less known.

When the Three Musketeers first came out I was 14. I saw it 5 or 10 times (really). When The Four Musketeers came out I saw it about 10 times. A couple of months later I saw both together (when they played double features) another 5 to ten times. I can assure you, when I saw the Four Musketeers (all times) it was Richard Chamberlain narrating. When I bought the VHS of both when they came out years later (with a stupid intro by Syble Danning) it had Frank Finley. So now the DVD has that Frank Finleys narration ( I still think he is a great actor "the Pianist", "The Lost Prince") But you are not crazy trust me it was RC first!!!!!
