Leave this movie alone

Now I dont quite get why this movie comes in for so much crap, lets face it Wes craven's was pretty dire, so this could only be a massive improvement over that one, and I think it is, like Mutronics guys in monster suits is always just good old fashioned silly fun.
Heather looks mighty fine, Swampy looks sooooo much cooler and well more swampy like, Louis Jourdan's ham acting is of the finest callibre, plus you get really cool title credits (a classic Creedance clearwater revival track over a nice montage of swampthing comic pics) aswell as all this goodness the kids are actually quite funny.
So please give it a go with a very open mind and just enjoy it for what it is , an ever so camp, monster, b-movie.

oh man i haven't seen this movie in a VERY long time!!! and then last night i was looking for a movie to watch and saw Swamp Thing, Dinosaurs, and Revenge of the Nerds all on one recorded tape. I thought it was the cartoon Swamp Thing so I fast forwarded it to Swamp Thing and screamed -- "AAAHH! It's the movie!!" so i watched it -- it was so awesome!!!

Agreed. This is a massive improvement on the original. It's much more fun and enjoyable. It doesn't make itself out to be an Oscar winner, just a plain old-fashioned guy in a monster suit beat-em-up.

This movie is very entertaining and I loved it. Heather Locklear's boobs are huge and she does not mind letting them hang out a little. Very good stroke value, plus it's a funny movie.

Great movie. This is exactly the kind of film I live for.

Louis Jourdan is a riot. You can clearly see he'd rather be somewhere else the whole time. He just doesn't give a crap. The scene with the kids getting together to look at porn is a hoot, too. And Dick Durock (apart from having the porniest porn name never used by an actual porn star) is the baddest ass imaginable (even if he is just an oversized brussel sprout). He constantly just shows up, out of the blue, and starts beating down beasties. The scenes with the leech-monster are pure gold. Huuuuuuuge improvement over Wes Craven's drab n' dreary snoozer. Jim Wynorski took the ball from Wes and turned this bad boy into a real fun, rock 'em sock 'em monsterfest.

And, yes, w22nuschler, Heather Locklear rocks. The stroke value, is indeed, uber-high.

Shame this one didn't have any Adrienne Barboobies though.

This is a good movie. I love the fight scenes with Swamp Thing and that Leechman.

The SwampThing/Leechman fights totally remind me of Godzilla movies, brainless rubber monster suit awesomeness.

I'm a little surprised at its low rating myself. I think it captures the appropriate tone for a tounge-in-cheek swamp monster movie. This was one of my favorite flicks as a kid.

I agree. A viewer might be required to have the right sense of humor to appreciate it. But I love it. I'd like to see more movies like this.
