The rating on this movie si so low, but I feel that I must say that I love this movie, it's one of my favorite sequels ever and the costume looks great.

Totally agree...I find it funny that this one, which has a great look, costume and monsters, is the silly one...if the original Swamp Thing by Wes Craven was the deliberately campy affair and this one begged to be taken seriously I think it would work better...this one had more of a right to be taken seriously, as Swampy looked better...Well except for Adrienne Barbeau against Heather Lockleer...Lockleer is prettier...but guess which one can act?

Yeah if Swampy looked like he did in Return the first movie would have been much better recieved.
That rubber suit was just too wrinkly and you could tell it was so fake.
The face wasn't bad, but the second one was great, he looked huge and he looked liked the Bissette grassy weedier version as oppossed to the original Wrightson slim line smooth burnt look.

He looked great in the TV series too.

I definitely prefer this to the original.

It's a fun B-movie that doesn't take itself too seriously...

...and Heather is extremely easy on the eyes.

The original had a horribly uneven tone and the budget was too low for what they were trying to accomplish in terms of the creature SFX. That and the score was extremely cheesy, which hurts coming from the mouth of someone who enjoyed Harry Manfredini's scores for the Friday The 13th franchise. It just undercuts any serious scenes in the film with a heavy dose of goofiness. With a higher budget and a better screenplay, the first film could have been really great. Hell, it already has a solid cast.

As for the second, it's a little too cheezy and kiddie-fied, but it's overall a better movie in my opinion. Whereas the first one couldn't seem to decide if it wanted to be deathly serious or campy, this one knows what it is going for and lays the camp violence fun on thick. That said, we have yet to be given what I would call a "definitive" Swamp Thing film and here's hoping that whenever they get around to re-adapting the comic (and they likely will) that they have a great team behind it who knows what they are doing.

I was too busy looking at Heather's breasts to notice if she could act. Shw looked so hot in that low cut blue dress.
