War Eagle

If my memory is correct, isn't there a little fat kid with an Auburn University hat on? If anyone can verify this or knows why it was there please reply. I mean was the director or maybe costume desinger from Auburn? I always thought it was pretty cool.

reply

Yeah that makes sense that the fat, probably inbred little kid is an Auburn fan. That seems to be what most of their fans look like. But then again, he seemed smarter than most Auburn fans....oh well. Roll Tide.

To answer the question asked by the original poster, the character of Darryl, played by Daniel Taylor, is wearing an Auburn University t-shirt. He was wearing that particular shirt because it was his own. Apparently, there wasn't a costume budget for the kids in the movie so they wore their own clothing on the set.

And to the second poster I just wanted to say that my husband, Daniel Emery Taylor, is by no means inbred. He is an Auburn fan as am I. I can tell you that, as an employee of a University of Alabama team store in Birmingham, I have never in my life seen so many toothless, smelly, overweight and obnoxious people as ones claiming allegiance to "Bama." As far as Daniel's intelligence goes, he is probably more intelligent than the majority of people at either university. With an IQ close to 160 he could seem nothing else but smart.

Thank you for the chuckle, though. Daniel, myself and our kids got quite a ruse out of your humorous remarks. WAR EAGLE!

Thank you for answering this. I have always wondered it as well. Growing up an Auburn fan and being about Daniel's age, I always loved the fact that Auburn was being shown in such a prominent position especially by someone I could relate to. So thank you for taking the time to let us know.

Disregard ignorant posts such as the “roll tide” guy, people such as that have nothing better to do than to try and get a rise out of you.

WAR EAGLE to you and your family!

Leave it to Auburn fans to not take a friendly joke......I was cracking on the childs character, not the little boy that played him. Course, I guess if my University hadn't won more than one National Championship in football in the last 50 years, I'd be bitter and cynical too. Yeah, y'all need Auburn refrences in movies like the Academy Award winning "Return of Swamp Thing" because outside of the soth, Auburn's biggest and only claim to fame is being Alabama's vastly inferior rival. Hey, on the bright side, you did keep your accreditaion.

Vastly inferior? What was it? Five years in a row, now? Ahhh ... I see. "Probabtion." "Inept coach." What will the excuse be this year? You see, I never understood this argument. Alabama was an excellent team decades ago. They won national championships decades ago. They have also had several long stretches of absolute and utter suck. Auburn? They're pretty static ... pretty much just a good team across the board. They may not have twelve national championships to their credit, but they also don't have entire decades where they can't win a game.

Oh, and for the record ... my father is an obnoxious Alabama fan. Most Alabama fans are. That's what enticed me to support Auburn. And yes, (to whoever asked) that really was my sweatshirt I was wearing in the film. I asked if I could wear it and the director thought it was a good idea.

Shalom!

I rewatched the movie last night, drunk, with my friends and girlfriend and jesus....I had forgotten how annoying that ginger headed little fatbody was. Such a typical half bred, $hit head Auburn slob.
