seeing this

As of fall 2007 this doesn't appear to be available on DVD. I just checked Netflix to no avail. Which is a shame since it is really quite a good espionage thriller (I have an old VHS copy). Come on HBO! Get this goodie out on DVD.

"RK,WK" is well-plotted and well-acted by the leads (Skerritt, Millen, von Sydow) all of whom have the appropriate level of world-weariness, desperation and resignation. (spoiler) The firefight in real-time at the end is quite spectacular, and devastating, all the more potent for it occurring in what is a genuine psychological espionage tale (as opposed to James Bond-ish hijinx). And Skerrit's protagonist's personal heroism+sacrifice in the service of the hope of post-superpower confrontation world-peace is huge.
