Three Oaks, Michigan?!?

I grew up in a town right next to Three Oaks, Michigan. I was SHOCKED to see not only the name but actual scenes filmed in Three Oaks. This is a TINY TINY farmer town...I wonder how in the world they picked this town for the movie?? But it's VERY cool!

Three Oaks was chosen because the family of John Hancock, the director, owns apple orchards in the area. Much of the movie was filmed on property owned by John Hancock's family.

Hmmm...how cool. It's just weird to see such a SMALL farm town in Michigan as the film site for a movie like this. Apparently this was HUGE news in this small town, and many people tried to get in as extras. I still haven't seen the entire film, I'll have to check it out asap to see what I recognize.

Well, that's a different and unusual location. So many movies seem to be set in NY, LA, Canada, or Chicago. I like that.
