No falling chandellier scene?

Did I misspell chandellier? Anyway, that is a key important cool part in the story. The 1925 one at least. They should have added that in. And a cool unmasking too.

i know, right? with all that gore and make-up effects they could have added that (which by the way is my favorite bit from any Phantom story/movie). as for an unmasking, the Christine girl did tear his "face" off near the end. it's just me, but i prefer an actual mask though.

According to the triva there was going to be a falling chandellier scene but the studio did not have enough money to do the scene.

I guess they thought finding Carlotta's head in the soup tureen would be more frightening than the chandelier scene. I read that, too where they didn't have any money for it. They did it pretty cheaply for the 1943 version, though.

Carlotta's severed head in the punch bowl serves the same purpose as chandelier scene, so it's not actually key that it's missing.

The stage accident that knocks Christine out is close to the crashing chandelier and likely the replacement. Since this is the slasher version of the story, Erik removing his mask works better than Christine tearing it off.
