doesn't Robert Englund still want to do PHANTOM OF NEW YORK?

I think it was Bloody Disgusting a a couple months back maybe about Robert Englund saying something about a sequel to this version.

"The phantom lives in the subway with a son and he watches over a blind girl who sings like an angel and she eventually ends up in an opera house."

Something like that for a plot I remember reading.

There was a sequel made but never re-leased

The trivia section has said two different things: 1) that a sequel was shot, and 2) that a sequel was merely planned. It would bug me so much if the thing really was made, and won't be released.

If the sequel was shot and not released, let's all start a petition or whatever so we can watch it! I mean, even if it's bad, I wanna see it.

My understanding is that a sequel set in modern-day New York was planned, but the producers were unable to secure enough funding. They still had Englund under contract, so instead they made a cheaper horror movie called Danse Macabre, about a Russian ballet company, with Englund playing two roles. This film was subsequently released in some parts of the world under the title 'Phantom of the Opera 2'.

It would really bug me, too if it was made, but never released. Kind of like the show, Real Nightmares.

Speaking of scripts, I have the one from The Phantom of the opera. It was a shame that a lot of it was either changed or cut out completely; Duke Sandefur is good! I got it from Script City.

I heard of DANCE MACABRE, but never saw it. Greydon Clark film. I wonder if it's even any good.
