The acting in this movie is so bad...

The little blonde kid and Herman Munster are the only ones that seem to have any business in the acting world. A better director and better actors would have made this movie good. At least it's still creepy.

reply

Not really. it was good enough. I've seen a lot of horrid acting lately, so it definitely wasn't bad. Also, the fact that critics haven't rated this well just shows how wishy washy they are, because it has most of what they normally praise. I think it was good both as a horror type of story, as well as a story about what grief can do.

reply

No the acting is bad. And the husband is the worst with his terrible delivery of lines.

reply

You'll get no argument from me.

I thought the casting in general was terrible, with the exception of Fred Gwynne, who seemed to be trying to the best he could with what he was given to work with.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

reply

Dale Midkiff was bland most of the time, but his acting got pretty damn bad near the ending. I didn't have a problem with the "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" part though, strangely enough. I thought that was just fine, good even. The other actors just looked kind of miserable (Rachel, her parents, Missy) and I think it sort of added to the dreadful feel of the movie. Fred Gwynne (sp?) and Miko Hughes did a terrific job though, and Brad Greenquist made for a decent Pascow.

reply

His performance was a bit of a laugh (especially walking up from that nightmare bit!).
I loved this movie but a couple of performers were a bit OTT! Lol

reply

I absolutely agree with you. I watch a lot of older movies and the acting style was different back then, but this movie is one I consider to be of a more modern age and I thought the acting was unbelievably subpar without exception.

reply

Not really? Good enough? One of THE worst acting I have ever seen and I study film, so that tells you something. Might need to see it again but I don't quite recall if the acting in Plan 9 From Outer Space was as this bad!

reply

You're right. Pet Semetery 2 was much better.

Ow, shut up! Mary Lambert did a great job, great choices, specially the way the dead of Cage-Funeral-Mourning was handled. Can't think of many people in horror at the time that could done better.

reply

Lol well sorry but most could do better.

reply

No it wasn't

Must you idiots bitch about everything?

reply

Says the person who's in the minority of this argument. It's bad. Get over it.
