Did Penn and Teller really die?

*SPOILER ALERT* if you ahvent watched the movie already.

Did Penn and Teller really die in the end? When any of them were shot, there was never a bullet wound, or any blood. Then, when the guy who acted like the stalker found Penn and Teller dead and put the bag over his head to shoot himself, if you look at the stuff that falls out from under the bag, on his side, it looks like blue, yellow, and red cloth falling down. And you never actually see the other guy shoot himself. Not sure if this was done on purpose, or due to low budget. Anyone else notice this?

Listen to Penn's voice over. Their characters are definitely dead.

Prof. Farnsworth: Oh. A lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm-My-Own-Grandpa!

I remember reading somewhere that the lack of blood was intentional. Arthur Penn's earlier film Bonnie and Clyde was famous for having one of the bloodiest scenes ever filmed at the time of its release, so they wanted to go the opposite way for P&TGK, finding all sorts of creative ways to hide the blood. The bag, Teller's (red) tie, etc.
