Region 2 DVD and 'Marianne Dreams' the novel

Well, I recieved my DVD of "Paperhouse" and the novel "Marianne Dreams" from Amazon.com.uk this afternoon. Needless to say, I cannot wait to read the book! As for the DVD, it offers a nice trailer and some very brief talent bios. Unfortunately, there is nothing about Charlotte Burke or Elliot Spiers offered. The one problem that I am having with the disc, however, is that it doesn't want to play widescreen on my region free player. I went to the setup menu to fix the format, but it didn't work. So, the picture looks a bit stretched. I am going to try to figure out why it won't play in its intended format. Either than that, the transfer is pretty nice.
