the most unrealistic part of the movie

At least to a younger person today... A Christmas bonus. What the hell? Does anyone still toward the beginning of their career still get these anymore? You know, without being in politics or Wall Street?

reply

Lots of people from all walks of life get a Christmas bonus. I even got one this month for a side job I have writing a weekly blog for a web site. It's not uncommon at all.

reply

Well then. My luck is worse than I thought

reply

You need to kidnap your boss is all!

reply

I know many who get a Christmas bonus. Sadly my husband’s company always waits till after taxes to do bonuses.

reply

My husband is a Respiratory Therapist at a major childrens hospital in California, his Christmas bonus this year is a $5.00 gift certificate..... to the hospital cafeteria. What a joke!

reply

As a government worker I usually get to work on Christmas and get zero bonus…sometimes we get a pen, but that has been years

reply

I’d say the most unrealistic part would be the beginning with the whole griswold family going out in the woods to get the tree.

reply

It's more unbelievable they could fit their car under a semi truck. It's also more unbelievable than someone getting a Christmas Bonus. I don't get a Christmas Bonus either and I work 40 hours a week.

reply

Hopefully you kidnapped your boss last year and rectified that situation.

reply

It's not that simple. I work for a Kroger store run by millionaires I don't know.

reply

I get a Christmas email.

reply

A year-end bonus is pretty common. Usually it is considered prudent to not spend it before you get it.

reply

it's still pretty standard in steady blue collar work.

reply

the hell it is. You get a pizza party

reply

He wasn't at the beginning of his career. He had worked there several years. Lots of people get Christmas bonuses today. My wife gets a big one every year, enough to pay our annual property taxes.
