Did any body notice when the while family freezes when the cops con in the house. Beverly is holding Chevy crouch And for a long time

As many times as I watched this movie over the years I never noticed it until this year. So funny. Then she takes her hand off of his crotch to shake his boss's wife then she puts it back on his crotch... Why was she holding his crotch to begin with?...LOL
