Anybody Aware of Deleted Scenes

I am not talking about scenes cut for tv-airings. Has anything ever been mentioned that somethings did not make the final cut.

There's a screencast on the DVD of them visiting a tree lot.

Funny that a still shot on the back of the DVD box also shows this part at the tree lot.
A shame there aren't deleted scenes!

I also just posted something about a deleted post credits scene. I don't know if it was ever shot, but in the screenplay, after the credits, Todd and Margo are in bed and Clark's Santa and reindeer come crashing through their ceiling.

Xmas or Bust: The Untold Story of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, in Rolling Stone magazine, December 2014, Miriam Flynn, who plays Catherine, mentions a cut scene in which a bit of Eddie and Catherine's life inside the RV is shown, which she says was quite funny. I have heard it mentioned in another thread that the scene can be found in the original script/screenplay, but I have not read it yet. Sounds interesting.

Someone posted this on the board somewhere too:

the original, unedited script had a scene in which the camera pans around to all the family sleeping. It shows Rocky and Ruby Sue sleeping, and suddenly there is the sound of shooting water as one of the kids is wetting the bed, right onto the rubber sheets that they are sleeping on. The camera then moves to the bedside table where the kids' have their pet gerbils in a cage.

THAT is why Cousin Eddie tells his wife, "Don't forget the rubber sheets and the gerbils", which hardly makes sense to have it in there like that along with her reaction to it.

Most people's minds would go to some perverse thoughts, only to discover that the statement was completely innocent!
Probably should have shot and included that scene.
