What's written on the japanese suitcase?

In the first episode, does anybody know?

reply

In white on the first readable side of the suitcase is "Carl Perkins" (is Best!)

On the other side with the handprints are their names in katakana next to each print. I couldn't get the black text on the Carl Perkins side though. It wasn't fully visible. Sorry.

Wow, thanks!

Sorry, I totally forgot about having asked this question.

FLEXI If you ever read this...You can set up your IMDB account to forward replies to your e-mail address, so you know if someone has replied to a post you have made.

It's kinda integral if you want to talk back an forth with people on IMDB.

(I know this reply is almost half a decade too late, but time means so little to me.)

That's KATAKANA.

You can't write "Carl Perkins" in katakana.

It ACTUALLY says:

"Ka-ru Pa-kinsu", which could be also written as "Kaaru Paakinsu" (that's certainly how it's phonetically pronounced). The long wovels are designated by long minus-signs in katakana (which look a lot like "ichi", the word and kanji character for the number one).

This of course correlates with the name, "Carl Perkins", OR "Carl Parkins" (which is not very likely, because Carl Perkins is the celebrity), so you are correct in that the MEANING of the text is "Carl Perkins", but technically, that's not what is WRITTEN on the suitcase.

And that is what was asked, was it not?
