This Movie + AA Have Saved My Life

I didn't realize this movie was only released in April 1989. My sobriety date is June 4, 1989. I was searching for the movie to share with one of my sponsees. My roommate saw this movie on TV in 1989, and it gave her the courage to talk to me about my drinking. I just celebrated 19 years of happy, joyous and free living. I have a host of friends and a wonderful life that I would never have had if I continued on the self-destructive path that alcohol led me down. I picture Bill W. in this movie staring out the window after yet another binge and just not knowing why he did it. That was me. Now because of AA I know WHY and I know HOW to not take a drink a day at a time. There are a million other benefits of belonging to AA which I will not say here, but don't let some of the people who have grudges turn you away from a chance at life.
