Daniel Day Lewis with cerebal palsy..........

This is one of the best performances I've seen by an actor. I honestly believe it is one of the best in cinema history. He makes this look so real as if he actually had cerebal palsy himself to play Christy Brown. The thing that makes actors so good is when you can't see any of them in the performance, I can't see any Daniel Day Lewis in this, he is so real in all his performances. He looked and acted and talked as if he had the disease. He's very gifted. Thats why I also like Johnny Depp in his performances especially as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribean. They are both gifted.

EX-actly. I totally agree!

It's not a disease-it's a condition. Muscular Dystrophy is a disease, caused by a virus. CP is usually caused by a lack of oxygen at birth or shortly afterward. Calling it a disease is like calling an auto accident a "disease".

Thank you, I'm glade you lade it on him because I was just about to do the same thing. I have a mild form of CP myself and I don't like when people call it a disease. Its like we're contagus or something. Thanks for clearing it up for him.

reply

So I try to correct it whenever I see it or hear it if I can.

I can't believe anyone would even put Johnny Depp in the same league as Daniel Day-Lewis. Depp doesn't even come close.

reply

I totally agree.. Johnny Depp is also a great actor but no way near Daniel Day Lewis.
Lewis was also amazing in Last of the Mohicans, In the name of the Father.. He's probably one of the best actors that ever lived.

reply

Yeah I have mild CP too. And it's not a disease ok people? It's a non-progressive brain injury. People with CP are not sick. With proper treatment and care they can live normal lives if the CP is not too severe. By the way, has anyone read the book? It's awesome.

reply

there is no treatment like drugs or anything but care yes. More like managment is more like it. intence phyisical tharopy help individuals with CP get somewhat a normalcy of function with the muscals and cordination skills

His performance in "In the Name of the Father" is every bit as extraordinary. Anyone who loved My Left Foot should check it out. also, it's by the same director, Jim Sheridan.
