Puzzling thing about Kaaliun-Spotter on moon

You all know those small drones, digging through Lunar dust and observing Jason & Ray.

My question: are those drones part of a full-grown Kaaliun?
Or are they part of the red footballs?
Their design doesnt seem to fit to any known Kaaliun-type.

Yeah, I thought it was one of those red footballs, moving below the surface and sticking up its "periscope" head.

When I'm gone I would like something to be named after me. A psychiatric disorder, for example.
