weird relationship between Elaine and her brother

Wheat is up with these two? Is this some kind of Southern kinkiness, or do I detect a strong wiff of incestuous hormones in their interactions?

YES I had it on 50:50 whether the plot was going to take a sudden incestuous turn

Nope. It was more a game-play. Elaine had changed from years on. Delmont was 'put away - in the crazy house'
('Please, Delmont-we though you needed professional help!')

Elaine tells him during, that he 'brings out the worst in her' 'he always did'.

Delmont was always HONEST. Elaine never accepted that about her brother; which is why he didn't fall for those horndog "ugly" girls immediately upon his return home. Told them he didn't want to treat them like dogs...

Strangely fond as they could be, of each other -Elaine has always been bright to her brother's givings. Their dancing moment could have been seen as 'incestuous', but really, it was a rare moment of bonding, considering his previous lock-up in which he blamed (and still hated) her.
