People say it was released in movie theaters but I never remember that happening. I don't remember even seeing the trailer at the time it was supposed to have been released either. I saw it for the first time on tv.

Yeah, I remember my dad taking my brother and I to see it at an afternoon matinee. I also remember we were the only ones in the entire auditorium. I did however see kris kristofferson in concert once at the pagewant in st. Louis....that was sold out.
shareI saw it in the theater. I was 11 and I thought it was awesome. I just watched it on Cinemax tonight and I was a lot less impressed. The story was pretty cool but I'm sorry ... that robot clown! Wow.
shareIt was a box office flop. It opened last week of August 1989 and was competing with big films like Uncle Buck, Lethal Weapon 2 and Batman.
shareYes, I remember the weekend it opened reading a lukewarm review in the paper, then it was gone a week or two later. I did rent it on video a few years later and bought it on VHS recently. It deserved a bit more attention than it got, in my opinion.

I knew it was on VHS, but I honestly NEVER did see it from beginning to end.
Today, it was on @ 7 AM, but I missed the 1st hour and ONLY saw about 15-20 mins of it.
I want to see ALL of it from beginning to end, though, because I like time travel movies & this one was definitely unique.
Do you think it should be re-released and/or have a remake?

I'd say it's worth a reissue, but I doubt there's a lot of interest in that. I wouldn't care for a remake, because I think that Kris Kristofferson and Cheryl Ladd were this film's main selling points. Unfortunately, I recently cleared out most of my VHS collection, and I think this film was one I donated to a thrift store.
