I'ma go out on a limb and say that this is more in bad taste than Bad Taste and more gross (not near as gory but stil more gross) than Braindead/Dead Alive. Basically it's the muppet show on crack and you have to have a sick sense of humor to enjoy it. (For example if you find the idea of a Vietnam flashback with muppets funny, this is your movie.)

It's muppet porn. It's great.

Not really a great film (it's ok) but it's definately worth experiencing.

Dude, Bad Taste ITSELF was in bad taste. That movie sucked ass! Totally booooooooooring.

Meet the Feebles, if you are teetering on the edge of insanity or you have a slightly perverted since of humor, will make you laugh your ass off. I freaking DIED laughing the whole time I was watching this it's SO WHACKED it's like what the hell omfg is this serious?!?!

Bad Taste was good, but Meet The Feebles is a lot better imo. It's the funniest puppet movie I've ever seen and it's hilarious. Plus nothing looks cheap so that's a plus from me. 10/10 go buy the dvd it's worth it!

Enjoyed Bad Taste more, personally, but Meet the Feebles is a better film.

There is much less gore in MtF than Bad Taste and especially Braindead (but that was pretty much the most gore ever on screen). That isn't to say there isn't a pretty good amount.

Most of the movie, though, is sex and drugs, but with puppets.

Like mentioned above, Vietnam flashback with Puppets is one of the highlights of the film. Very hilarious.

You'll most likely enjoy it, so I say go out and get it!

MEET THE FEEBLES, is great.

Of all of Peter Jackson's Gore Trilogy (Bad Taste, This & Braindead/Dead Alive), I didn't like this one at all.

It was a little funny, but I really didn't like it too much. I felt it was a bit too mean spirited compared to the absolute fun of the film it preceded & followed.

I warned you not to go out tonight

I agree about it being more mean spirited than fun.

If you like Peter Jackson's early work, you won't be disappointed by Meet the Feebles. I loved it!

i would recommend staying away from this movie, i would actually rate it as peter jackson's worst film, even below the lowly frighteners, you're better off re-watching bad taste or dead alive

I love all 3 of his first films too. As for other people I've talked to...

The first time I showed Bad Taste to a friend, they didn't quite know what to make of it until the end credits, whereupon they decided they liked it. That same friend, about 30 minutes into Feebles declared, "OOOOOOOOOO-kay, Peter Jackson needs therapy". College roommates who watched this over my shoulder expressed similar sentiments. Hope that helps.

I look at it this way: Back before the DVD release, when bootlegs of it were easier to come by than legit VHS tapes, it built up something of a legendary stature among cult film fans who'd only heard of it. Now if anyone else had been the first to do a feature film entirely about muppets in a world of sex, drugs, STDs, and mob violence, it would probably have turned out to be an uninspired string of gags with less meaning than the lamest Family Guy ep (not that FG doesn't have its moments), and not lived up to any of its hype. But Jackson thought his characters, gags, and storylines through quite thoroughly, and it has the same energy he injected into his first and third movies. Sure it slows down to showcase several disgusting gags, but no one else had done a movie like this to my knowledge, so he sort of had to in order for the shock value to be effective.

Also, it probably paved the way for "TV Funhouse", likely the closest thing we'll ever have to that "syndicated series" on basic cable.

I think this movie is great! There needs to be a sequel

This thread was started about 10 years ago, and I watched this movie about 15 years ago, and I still think about it and reference it.

I think it was amazing considering the budget... parts interesting, happy, sad, and disturbing... it really sticks with you and has a lot to say.

I love it.
