Why didn't Jobu want to help Pedro during the one-game playoff against the Yankees?

One theory that I just thought of is that Pedro told Willie that he wanted to sacrifice a live chicken before the game. But of course, Willie and Jake were understandably squeamish about the idea, so instead, they gave Pedro a bucket of KFC. But that isn't exactly what Jobu presumably wanted since it isn't like Pedro was planning on eating the fried and processed chicken.
