You ARE hypocrite. Didn't you learn anything in school? First rule is that you should never flaunt your stupdity as you just did in your remark. You should be horse whipped for such a remark. Now, I honor everyone's opinion, if it's educated, but obviously you have no education so I can freely make fun of you. Fine. I am ok with that. First of all, this isn't the best film version of the musical. Listening to the soundtrack of this film is misleading. The 1931 version is better because it sticks closer to the original existential intent of the play. However, I assume your comment applies to the storyline. Well, if you had paid attention in high school English, this play would have been taught as a true literary classic. It was written as a strong social cmmenatary, essentially a rip-off from the British opera, "The Beggar's Opera." The same character names were borrowed, but the time period was updated to a slightly more recent time period and the plot was twisted from light comedy to a dark and bitter plot line. Bright wit was used in some of the music to provide a contradtiction to the darker overtones. It is a simplistic story because the author, Bertolt Brecht, wanted to elaborate on a trite English storyline and make it complex and diverse, commenting on morality heavily and society's reactions to it to provide humor. It is a deep play for its time and any film version (even the worst, a 1960s version starring Sammy Davis Jr.) illustrates some form of genius. Sadly, you seem to be uncultured and totally ignorant to anything artistic. You must be a direct descendant from the Neolithic Neanderthal. Do you sit in your allegorical cave and ponder poorly drawn pictures all day while picking your naval? Oh, you must be a sports addict or a worshipper of recent cinema. Well, let me tell you something. Movies have a history rooted deep in theatre. Movies also actually have a history which goes beyond the past decade. If everyone in America were as stupid as you seem to be, there would be no soldiers to bring back from Iraq (as they would all be anhilated from lack of care). Also, in a lighter contrast...if everyone had your magnificent brain capacity, we would all be living in caves with nothing better to do than procreate and stuff our faces with animal fat, after which we would wipe our greasy hands on an animal fur and attempt to generate our species again until we got bored with it. I certainly hope you understand what I'm saying. Because, if my assumptions of your mental abilities are correct, you'll need someone to translate this for you. Chew on that, caveman!
